The Unrehearsed Christmas Pageant

The third or fourth Sunday evening of Advent
This is a beautiful narration of the Christmas story, allowing both children and adults to participate
without speaking parts.  Sung by the congregation, Christmas carols are interspersed within the
narration.  The congregation also comes forward at the end, as the villagers of Bethlehem, to sing
Silent Night and Joy to the World!

Trunk and Treat

The Saturday closest to Halloween.

There were lotsof trunks and costumed guests on our hill to greet and hand out candy to over 60 children.  Crafts, simple games, face-painting added to the fun.  Our Boy Scout troop 4 built a monkey walk and everybody loved it.  A good time was had by all!

Unrehearsed Christmas Pageant:   December

Christmas pageant group picture

This telling of the Christmas story uses a beautifully scripted narration and  characters of all ages.  There are pre-selected lead characters, narrators, and Holy  Family.  Everyone else comes to the sanctuary at 6:00 pm willing to participate as a  character in the drama (no lines spoken) or as a member of the congregation who  will sing the carols as they occur in the script and will join the rest of the cast up at  the manger (as the villagers of Bethlehem) at the end to sing "Silent Night" and "Joy  to the World".

This "unrehearsed" pageant is intended for people of all ages.  It is a way to engage  our children in telling the old, old story --- not as a performance, but in the midst of  the community.  We will have simple costumes for all who wish to participate in the  drama itself, and there will be simple refreshments following the pageant.
